Yakult is a probiotic dairy product made by fermenting a mixture of skimmed milk with a special strain of the bacterium Lactobacillus case Shirota.
Yakult, a probiotic drink was launched in India in 2007 by Yakult Danone India (P) Ltd, a joint venture between two global probiotic leaders, Yakult Honsha, Japan and Groupe Danone, France.
The company was formed in 2005 to manufacture and sell probiotic products in the Indian market.
Yakult is manufactured at a HACCP certified manufacturing facility in Sonepat, Haryana in India and is presently available in Delhi, NCR, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
