On Friday, January 29, 2016 at approximately 8:00 PM I attempted to see a doctor at the Walk-In Clinic in the Maji Maji Shopping Center. The receptionist was unable to verify my Medicare Health Insurance in the electronic system. I was not refused service but told I could pay the fee and then submit the bill directly to Medicare for reimbursement. I left. On Saturday, I called 1-800-MEDICARE and reported the issue the Walk-In Clinic had with verifying my Medicare Health Insurance in the electronic system. Ms. Jones reported that my Medicare chain number is in the electronic system and has been since December 2011. She could not explain why the Walk-In Clinic was unable to verify my insurance and recommended I call the PR Medicare office to further report the issue for help.
Needless to say I was very disappointed the Walk-In Clinic was unable to honor my Medicare Health Insurance. I sincerely hope the Clinic can correct this issue so that other Medicare recipients are not met with the same issue I experienced Friday evening January 29, 2016. My wife and I are part-time residents in Dorado having purchased a home here. My wife has used the services at the Walk-In Clinic using here Medicare Health Insurance card without issue. I am baffled about this issue.
