The Black Italian Griglia Cucina was created and founded by a Soul Husband and Italian Wife team! The Black Italian offers Authentic Italian Soul cuisine cooked with love and a mission to bring family and friends together for food and fellowship.
"Griglia Cucina" means "Grill Kitchen" in Italian as we have infused the taste of homemade Italian and soulful charcoal grilled flavors.
Our homemade sauces are authenticated from old family recipes & served with our tasty meats grilled & smoked to perfection, offering a unique twist of taste you have to try! Our food is made with frsh, quality ingredients and we use sea salt in all of our recipes.

Our mission is to serve you delicious authentic Italian cuisine with a touch of Soul prepared with quality, fresh and local ingredients as each meal is cooked for you as if you were like our very own family. We make our food with a mission to fill your hunger with unique and delicious foods cooked with love. We bless each meal before it comes to you and we are encouraging families, friends, co-workers or any group to enjoy meals together, becoming one in breaking bread together and fulfilling your hunger physically and spiritually.
The Black Italian offers family style catering to-go with a unique concept. What is The Black Italian’s family style catering method? This means your dishes are readily available for delivery and set up so that all can present and serve themselves. This is an old authentic Italian traditional way of eating. Everyone gets to pick a little of what they like or a lot of what they love! We always provide disposable serving-ware and also provide the option of disposable eating-ware and chafers and sternos if needed.
Plus, everything is yours to keep including any left-over food which is one of the differences between traditional full-service caterers and what The Black Italian’s Family Style Catering To-Go method is. So you are not only getting quality food that everyone can pick and choose to eat family style with no serving fee or clean-up hassles, you also get to keep any and all of the left-overs you already paid for! The Black Italian wants to cook for your event leaving all the work in our hands and making your job as simple as possible so you and all of your guests can enjoy the event with quality authentic cuisine and style! Our special catering style will save you time and money, yet offer a unique meal with superior excellence.
OUR HISTORY: Beginning out of our home, we offered home cooked authentic meals to our families and friends to take home and enjoy with their family and friends! Just to think that someone will cook a meal for you just like they cook for their very own family (and friends!) - and then be able to share with your own family or friends - was exciting and gave people a break from unhealthy fast food or the same old places to stop by and pick-up dinner. Families have a difficult time preparing a homemade meal in the kitchen after a long day of work or do not have the time to prepare a big family event meal with life's daily routines and stresses!
As we currently are only offering our unique family style catering services for delivery, we are working on going back to offering Family Style Dinners for pick-up in the future! The Black Italian wants to be the place you can come to pick-up that all-day, home cooked meal made with love and share it at the dinner table.
And that was only the beginning! Our friends and family wanted us to offer these unique delicious meals for their bridal showers, BUNCO parties, graduation parties, birthday celebrations, office lunches and even for their Sunday family dinner gatherings and dinner parties with friends. The word spread and local offices and businesses were also looking for a nice homemade authentic meal for their events, lunches or gatherings.

As we have continued to grow with the help of our families, friends and local counterparts, we are excited to offer you, your church or your business a wonderful home cooked meal to enjoy for whatever the event may be! We only provide the utmost quality in all that we do - from the moment we meet you, to taking your order, to getting your ingredients, cooking them and creating your finished product. The quality does not end there as we will provide you with "The Black Italian" experience...friendly, caring owners who cook your food as they would their own family and friends ensuring your needs have been met to make your event, your dinner, your experience - SPECIAL!
