From Jason Denton and the creative team behind such celebrated Manhattan restaurants as ’inoteca, ’ino, corsino cantina, and ’inoteca e liquori bar, comes the long-awaited Brooklyn addition to their stable: Betto. Located in the creative and retail hub of Williamsburg, Betto is the first Denton restaurant outside of Manhattan and also the first to expand its menu beyond the ’ino family’s signature Italian cuisine.
The 60-seat restaurant is located off of Williamsburg’s bustling Bedford Avenue on North 8th Street, and is easily accessible via the L train. ‚We’ve always loved Brooklyn but Williamsburg really reminded me of when we first opened ‘inoteca on the Lower East Side because of the youth and vibrancy,‛ Denton says. ‚I love the art and music scenes; it’s a great vibe and we are so happy to a part of it.‛ The spacious restaurant offers comforting, large, shareable plates. Denton was one of the first to introduce the small plate concept in the U.S., and with Betto, he is expanding from his signature Italian panini and small plates into a regional, large plate format with simple, rustic flavors. In concept and feel most Denton establishments typically harken back to pre-war cuisines - before things were canned and preserved – and focus on clean, seasonal, bold flavors. Betto is the newest example of his creativity and hospitality.
