About Surge Ahead

Three Things You Should Know about Surge

Have you considered establishing a company, but gave up when you realized you do not have the necessary funds required to build a startup? What if we tell you that there is a program aimed to jumpstart your company and help you get on the right track?

The program is called Surge, and it is available to aspiring entrepreneurs intending to do business in India and Southeast Asia markets. Here is what you need to know about the program.

An Opportunity to Fund Your Startup

In today’s business world, an excellent idea and desire to succeed are not enough if you do have the necessary funds. The capital is what enabled you to design the best products, hire the most promising talents, and come up with the right marketing plan for your company.

That is why Sequoia India initiated Surge, a program aimed to help those entrepreneurs who believe that they have a bulletproof business idea. Each round of the program secures a total of $1.5 million for a limited number of chosen companies. That will help you to eliminate the hassle of collecting funds for your startup and enable focus on providing top-quality products.

Who Can Sign up for Surge?

The program welcomes everyone who has a business idea. It is not necessary to have a detailed plan, but a PowerPoint presentation that will help the decision makers learn more and get excited about your idea can be beneficial.

You can sign up for Surge even if you have already started a company. However, it needs to be an early-stage business ready to tackle the market.

Why Would I Sign Up?

Apart from the mentioned finances, Surge will provide company building support by organizing training sessions aimed to teach you how to accelerate your startup growth. Sequoia has plenty of experience in developing companies, and we will put that experience at your disposal during the 16 weeks of the program.

You will also have the opportunity to share your experiences and insights with other entrepreneurs who joined the Surge program. The fact that you will be working closely with startup owners going through the same process of growing the company like will undoubtedly improve your knowledge.

Surge will also give you the chance to participate in global immersion sessions. These will be organized in India, China, and Singapore. Those sessions aim to give you the opportunity to further perfect your investing skills.

Finally, when the program ends, Investor Week will be organized. During the event, you will present your idea to the interested investors and get the chance to raise more funds for your startup company.
