Exeter's best little theatre The Barnfield now hosts The Prologue Bar & Cafe, a lounge space offering an escape from the bustle of the city to enjoy a coffee and pastry, in house sandwiches, afterwork drinks or a cocktail before the nights events..

A stone’s throw away from Exeter’s Princesshay, The Prologue Bar & Café is a great place to meet with friends, enjoy a work lunch or have an intimate drink to start your evening. Located on the ground floor of a theatre, the buzz of local and national arts and drama sets the mood for this newly opened and newly managed venue.

Our friendly café offers Origin coffee, a selection of local cake and pastry indulgences, freshly baked pain au chocolat and tasty made-to-order sandwiches. The bar is speakeasy meets Victorian era London and open evenings Mon – Sat. Come join us for a cosy glass of wine, local ale or treat yourself to a cheeky tipple from our ever changing cocktail list (check out our cocktail of the month).

Contact us at [email protected] for any enquiries or to request a functions pack for hiring out the space for your Xmas party, conference, birthday or other social event. Catering and drinks package deals are also available. Check out our events section to see up and coming wine tastings, local music acts and other special events.
