Ever-expanding Birmingham, known for its fashion-forward boutiques, nationally acclaimed art galleries and the elegant Townsend Hotel, welcomes a new concept in beauty: Maalouf salon. Opened January 2009 Maalouf Beauty is a full-service salon offering hair cuts, color, treatments and styling; makeup lessons and application; brow shaping and tinting; and manicure/pedicure treatments.

Maalouf Beauty is the vision of the Detroit-raised Maalouf brothers: Hairstylist Johnny Maalouf, Makeup Artist Elie Maalouf and Hair & Makeup Stylists George and Joey Maalouf. With their celebrity clientele and down to earth demeanor these brothers are undeniably the future of something amazing and they list Demi Moore, Eva Mendes, Mariah Carey, Naomi Campbell, Amanda Bynes, Heidi Klum, Gabrielle Union, Naomi Watts, Joy Bryant, Petra Nemcova, Paris Hilton and Molly Sims among their clients.

Hairstylist Johnny trained with industry icons Vidal Sassoon and John Sahag and most recently has been training stylists around the county on the newest hair techniques. Makeup artist Elie has created beauty looks for top runway shows in New York, Milan, Paris and London. His work has been featured in such prestigious magazines as Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Interview to name a few. George has a background in both business and beauty, having previously been an executive in the cosmetics industry. His work has been published in Glamour, Elle, Marie Claire and Esquire. Joey has worked on ad campaigns for major companies including Victoria’s Secret and Target and has seen his work included in the pages of British Vogue, V and People. This fall, Joey can be seen hard at work with client Rachel Zoe on Bravo’s hit TV series “The Rachel Zoe Project.”

“Having worked in this industry for so long, we felt the natural progression was to open our own salon,” says Johnny Maalouf. “We want to offer clients our best work in the best possible environment.”

Centrally located along Old Woodward Avenue, Maalouf Beauty is close to numerous fashion boutiques including Tender and Linda Dresner as well as popular spots Hill Gallery, Cameron’s Steakhouse and the Birmingham Theatre. Whether it’s preparing for a night on the town, getting the bride and her bridal party ready for a wedding, or a day of pure pampering, Maalouf Beauty will be the premier destination for all of Birmingham’s beauty and grooming needs.

In conjunction with the grand opening, Maalouf Beauty will also unveil a sophisticated line of color cosmetics and brushes. The line will be sold exclusively at the salon before being expanded nationally.

“Our goal is to provide clients with the full spectrum of beauty. We didn’t want to limit ourselves to offering only hair services, as make-up truly completes the look. We hope that the experience at Maalouf Beauty makes customers feel beautiful on both the inside and outside,” says Elie Maalouf.
