About Homegrown Food Hub

Phone: 417-597-4057

Created by Amanda Millsap Owen, the same woman who brought you Homegrown Food Store, Homegrown Food Hub is a specialized kitchen that brings local and nutritious foods from farm to the tables of local school children and more!

Homegrown Food Hub has partnered with our local Ozarks Regional YMCA to provide local, nutritious fruits and vegetables as snacks for our community's children. Together we have created a state of the art kitchen where produce will be purchased from local farmers, washed, peeled, cut, bagged, and even frozen. The kitchen is capable of preparing enough food to provide the ORYMCA's Childcare Program with all of the fresh food they need during the growing season while simultaneously freezing enough fruits and veggies to feed the kids healthy snacks all through the winter as well.

Homegrown Food Hub provides the local food, the ORYMCA delivers it to children who need it.

But The Local Sprouts project is more than just providing food it is also education, teaching kids about nutrition, food, and sustainability. Kids get to tour local farms and farmers markets and learn how to grow their own food through Springfield Urban Agriculture Coalition's D.I.R.T. Project. We are proud to have both our YMCA and SUAC as partners in this wonderful project!
