The Uptown Arts Bar is a community bar which celebrates the performing arts with emphasis on theater, dance, comedy, original prose/poetry, storytelling, the spoken word, political discourse, puppetry, as well as cultural groups and the historic urban core community.

"There will not be a television in the building," Patterson says. "This space will be for performances, conversation and community."
