Come enjoy some of the best Peruvian food in Los Angeles!!!
Established in 1976
Lau's Restaurant was located in Atwater Village in Los Angeles. Jose Way Po Lau was born in Canton, China and migrated to Peru as a younger man in the late 1930's. There he met our grandmother Lily Lau got married and had 3 kids (Raymundo, Soledad, and Matilda). He was a young entreprenuer who owned a small farm and family market. He loved to wake family members in the middle of the night to prepare lavish meals from the meats and produce sold in his market. In 1975 he continued his quest and migrated to the Untied States to provide a better life for his family. The following year he opened Lau's - a Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese style Chinese food. When he retired in 1980, our parents. Raymundo (Mundo) and Magdalena (Malena) Lau, took over the restaurant and altered the menu to include tasty Peruvian dishes with an Asian flair. At the time, we were the only Peruvian restaurant in Los Angeles. We are here in Burbank to serve you new customers with our 35 year old menu
