"Welcome to the Dog House"

Not all hot dogs are sold in street carts anymore. There is a new dog in town!!! Now there’s G-Dogs. Located in Hoover, Alabama, right down from the Galleria Mall, where you can get unusual dogs with various fresh toppings and sides of crispy fries or fresh creamy cole slaw. The space is bright and full of natural light, done in bright yellow with red and black accents, tables and a long, curvy counter. Choose from any of our many varieties of dogs that are grilled to order and placed inside our warm steamed buns. Order off the menu or just pick any toppings. Each month we feature a unique and original dogs. There are several salads, sandwiches, burgers and desserts available as well. G-dogs is the brainstorm of Charles Matsos, a local restaurateur from Birmingham, Alabama. He is an Auburn University graduate who lives in Birmingham with his wife and two children. The name G-Dogs came from his father, Michael Matsos, another long time restaurateur, after he tasted the first dog and said it was “dog-gone good.” The name G-dogs was a natural fit. Plans are under way to open more locations in Alabama and throughout the southeast. Matsos got the idea for the restaurant when he tasted what started as a staff favorite at his Golden Rule BBQ in Irondale, Alabama. The staff had been eating this dog for years. He added his mother’s secret sauce to this already delicious dog and it was an instant success. All the dogs can be had solo or as a combo with one side and a soda. Breakfast is available as well!
